In seiner neusten Version 1.4 setzt Apples ‘iTunes Producer’ beim Codieren von Audiotiteln erstmals auf Apple Lossless, wie iPodfun.de berichtet. Das Programm ermöglicht Labels und Musikern die Vorbereitung der eigenen Musik zur Einspeisung in den iTunes Music Store. Bislang kam dabei AAC zum Einsatz, welches in Verbindung mit Apples DRM-Variante Fairplay schließlich den Weg zum Kunden findet. Bislang ist unklar, welche Rolle diese Änderung in Zukunft spielen wird, allerdings wurde immer wieder Kritik an der Audioqualität (derzeit 128kbps AAC+Fairplay) der im iTMS angebotenen Titel laut.

Music/video combos added to iTunes

Apple has added music/video combo deals to the iTunes music store [iTunes link]. A new page has been set up that lets you buy either the song you’re after for $0.99US or its accompanying video for $1.99US (as usual), or you can get both for $2.49US.
It’s not huge news (I’m still waiting for the update that will bring all the Nike stuff), but it’s there.
